An exercise in Depth of Field, dim lighting, and something like 16 layered renders, because my computer can only handle so much DoF without giving me the "Out of Memory" whatsit. Just wanted to try something a little different for once.

With statues. Yes, not that different.

Software: Vue 5 Infinite, Poser 7, Cinema 4D 8.5 and Photoshop CS
Models: Sixus 1, Daz 3D, Danie and Marforno, and Kawecki, among others.
Number of Energy Drinks/Shots taken while composing: 4

Enjoy!

EDIT 7/1/09: Found out one of my composited layers had not been placed at a full 100% opacity (Thaaaaank you, Crinklestein! I appreciate it!), fixed that and reuploaded.

Sorry, man! You slipped over to my second page of responses, so I never got a chance to respond to this!

You're probably right about the darkness, and that's something that I'm sadly fighting to skirt the line of a lot... I've been doing a lot of light experimentation, trying to set moods with lighting and shadow, and in this case, I actually had it fairly good on my monitor. What happens is that my usual post-work finishes tend to darken the picture slightly, and in this case, that made a lot of difference. Beforehand, the cave wall and pillar behind the girl on the left, and even the throne, was much more visible. But it's all a learning process. ^_^

Depth Blur... what can I say about it but "stupid, but beautiful, piece of &$*#^!!" In this case, the blur was much more subtle around the models, because I did almost all of it in postwork and wanted to have the expressions at least be visible. But I want to keep attempting to expand my horizons , so I'll keep trying fun stuff like that... and probably hating my computer with every moment. :XD:

The big thing is, I'm really glad you liked what I put together... hope I can keep ya watching!

Don't worry about me watching, I'm even watching you 6000 km away from home, with a 56k connection :XD:

Holy crap, I was totally wrong with the picture being too dark... it was actually the screen of the laptop I had during my holidays that was too dark... Now that I'm back on my good old screen, I see that the laptop screen ruined my artworks, making them way too bright...
