Out of all my characters, Rafe-- Rafael Vance-- is probably the most likely to brood. So a rain-heavy forest seems to be the perfect place for him to reflect on the hand life's dealt him, to remember the loss of Chay, think about a certain pallid blind girl of his recent acquaintance, or consider if he had the courage to slash his dagger across his own throat.

Or for that matter, he might go there just to drench off a vicious drunkfest. Cause Rafe often spends time in a liquid medium. :XD:

I agree the scenery is an enormous WOW. By the way, even though that would be time-consuming and not easy, have you ever thought of doing a tutorial explaining how you do your 3D art from the sketch/general idea to the final render ? That would be awesome, and help a lotta people, I think.

You know, I'd actually given thought to that (I even put up what was supposed to have been ';Part One' on postworking here.) but I never got around to it. What I really ought to do is just sort of screencap, shoot pics and log what I do when I come up with an idea. People might be surprised by how little pre-sketching I do... a lot of my work is on the fly by the seat of my pants. :XD:

Well, I can understand that, since I'm practically the same, except I don't do ANY pre-sketching at all ! xD Everything in the head.

Oh yeah, I had also read your postworking tutorial when you had uploaded it, and it was really interesting and comprehensive. But I guess that took you long to do, isn't it ?

:jawdrop: Which would make me beyond just happy and willing to do more Rafe pics my own self! It could be some sort of a perpetual happy cycle! Seriously. Kinky Shaina artwork is my kryptonite. Well, yeah, petrification, immobilization and other encase-/entrapment styles, too. But Shaina is way up there. :XD:

Thank you very much, Razer! This is quite possibly my favorite of all my recent pictures just because of the feeling it seems to convey. I've been that person, standing out there and feeling alone and emo in the rain, not sure where my life was leading or what I was doing. Or just waiting for a ride in crap weather. :XD:

Anyway, definitely one of my favorite pictures that I've ever done. I'm glad you like it, too! Thank you!

i'm thinking that it's a hangover all right. even in the pouring rain some beautiful scenery like that could clear your head. this is really impressive, excellent details and effects as always. realistic rain and mist, and an absolutley gargauntan background filled with detail. excellent work!

Thank you! I could totally see him hanging out in the rain to clear his head from a bad night of drinking.... I'm not a big drinker, but if I were, I could see myself hanging out in the shower to try to get rid of a hangover, and this definitely isn't much different. Glad you like the picture on the whole! ^_^
